How similar the Computerworld interview and the PDC presentation and in the panel discussion by Andres Hejlsberg? Well all pretty focused on C# development from version 1.0 to 4.0. I enjoyed all his talk and interviews, and now I know that I dont need to look for another talk by him as its going to be same till the another couple of years as the timeline is set.
What is there more in C# 4.0, its emerging as multi-paradigm language with paradigm shift from imperative to declarative thats talked in all the talks. So we will have C# mashed with functional, dynamic, concurrent programming flavours and may be later with constraint and logic programming languages.
I am again forced to refresh my Ruby learning which left in 2007 because I felt to explore the .NET support for various dynamic languages from the PDC talk by Jim Hugunin. Also I have to catch a talk by John Lam for PDC 2008 on IronRuby. All in all PDC 2008 is joy and hope for super things in future. I am done watching many PDC08 talks and a great start of the year would be to spread the goodies to the team one by one, may be I can stat with C# as a language paradigm 1.0 to 4.0 with examples. Oh!! loads of things are coming to mind. I recall this saying:
