A vacation to fulfill

December 23, 2008

This will be the first vacation I will be starting in my search to myself as well to visit a altogether a new place without asking or letting anybody know. It will be just a sort of 3 days but I want it to start from this year.

What I will be doing:
- Stay in a comfortable hotel/motel
- Realize life and worthiness, feel the year end
- Attend Christmas mass in the afternoon and at night enjoy watching other people party
- Next day early morning start to browse the area in a way to reach to the beach
- Spend time and get tan on the beach while in company with mp3 player with few podcast, one novel.
- Have good sea food as lunch/dinner
- Find another night-life zone and have fun with local drink to taste
- Final day, visit some temple/church pray/meditate. Move to hiking. Come back hotel early.
- Have good time again at night and ready the baggage to return back next morning.

Cool. I wish myself a peaceful holiday vacation.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to anybody who wander here.

Thanks.
Update: That vacation did not happen for no very special reason but a known humane feeling of guilt. Heck!! I was all set to move till the morning of the date of travel. As I woke up I had hangover of guilt feeling for no reason. Its difficult to consume that I would have spent a vacation without any company at a place where mostly couples  monger. Its first time baby, its first time. You will get used to it.

A day without browser in Office

December 10, 2008

Its never been a day as far as I remember that I have not opened browser in office even wanting that. It happened today. I used to sit at different location away from my team members and almost a single cabin like place. Today I moved to the location where all team guys sits. The place is open and I felt naked/exposed/monitored because I was never at place like this for last couple of years. There is no restriction to open and there is no fear of any kind. Its just I was not comfortable around developers zooming to monitors with source code while myself plucking news. Its not for a day or two but its for days till I am there. Heh!!

I gave a thought what is the day without opening a browser. What I missed:
- I missed what GigaOm, ReadWriteWeb, Scoble, Wired etc under netvibes’s tab “Daily-Browse” has for today
- I missed my guys with tab “People”, who motivates me, tells me to think, talks about world, talks about big issues: They are: Seth Godin, Kevin Kelly, Paul Graham, Guy Kawasaki, Roger Von, Dave Pollard and few more. Wow!!
- Under “Code” tab I missed: Hanselman, Jeff Atwood, Joel Spolsky, Raymond Chen, Mark Russinovich and many many more….
Wow, there are many things that I glace atleast 1 hour daily and note few for good reading that I missed.

What would be life if I dont open browser for a month. Nothing really. Does productivity will improve, yes to few KLOC. But is the meaning of damn productivity where there is no awareness of what is beneath and what is above. For my life daily awareness is as important in life as wearing a comfortable dress.

So I decided to have a good two hours of time at home to do this and I am here first writing this. I am yet to come to react more on the things I know by either writing opinion or giving presentation to the team. I keep this hope positive.
