No escaping any more, I am on .NET now…

By alright

It’s been long time, I guess all started from 2003 MS-TechEd that I wanted to go inside .NET. I had my first book on C# in 2001 and had little idea that its not like a yet another programming language. In the TechEd I was one of early-bird prize winner and got a book on .NET by none other than the Jeffery Richter. He writes in a way that you start anything he writes. Before I had read his book “Programming Applications for Windows”. I got the book little late by end of the year 2003. I started reading in 2004 early and then started following lots of .NET and Longhorn related blogs. All this study on net and then slow picking of C# as a language like C++ made me to move slow to adapt. Later I read one blog by Joel Spolsky who wrote about this Windows attitude of winning thru applications (MS Office, Studio and etc) he also had a post about WinForms and its future in .NET as XAML is best taken over. At that time I was a Windows Developer who moved steps from Win32 sdk to MFC. Learning WinForms for GUI was not so logical and convinceable choice (due to its short existent in t and correctly there was no push to learn.

After around three years now, I am correctly pushed to learn C# and logically I am convinced that its future. Even the most experienced developer person who still writes and makes other write tons of code, whose career in s/w most have started twenty years back, who has seen the days of Windows from DOS to Vista, with whom I work sitting in another distant continent, has a point to learn C#.

I am sure its not that late. WPF was something I liked exploring (making tinny programs) thru web and thru Charles Petzlod’s blog three-four moths back. Silverlight and Popfly was something I knew when it first popped into the world.

I am sure the back dots I have created long back will give a shape soon.
